Features

PortalMine focuses on a small set of features that make free hosting practical: fast setup, a simple panel, and enough stability to keep friend servers enjoyable.

Core features

Speed

Ultra-fast setup

Create an account, choose a version, and get your server address quickly. No command line required.

Simplicity

Clean web panel

Do the essentials: start/stop/restart, view basic details, and access quick help.

Reliability

Stability-first defaults

We prefer settings that keep servers playable for small groups, even on free resources.

Basic protection

We apply baseline protections and infrastructure best practices to reduce random outages and common attack noise.

  • Traffic filtering (basic)
  • Safer defaults for new servers
  • Operational monitoring and status updates

Compatible with popular versions

PortalMine targets widely used Java server versions and common lightweight configurations.

Quality-of-life details users appreciate

  • Copy-to-clipboard connect address: fewer mistakes when sharing the server IP.
  • Clear limits and expectations: users can plan around performance, instead of guessing.
  • Helpful support paths: “check Status” and “contact us” links reduce frustration.
  • Readable documentation: short pages that answer the “what do I click?” questions.

What we intentionally don’t include (yet)

Trying to do everything at once usually hurts reliability. For a free tier, it’s smarter to focus on a stable core:

  • Heavy, complex modpacks by default (often requires paid-grade resources)
  • Unlimited player slots (invites abuse and disappoints users)
  • Advanced networking tools and deep configuration screens for beginners

If you add advanced features later, consider making them opt-in or part of a paid plan—so the free experience stays predictable.

Feature FAQ

Do you support plugins or mods?

Light configurations can work depending on the server type. If you need heavier plugin stacks or modpacks, consider a paid-grade host.

Will my server stay online 24/7?

We aim for an “always online” experience, but free resources can have fair-use constraints. We prefer being transparent: check Status if you notice interruptions.

Where can I see uptime incidents?

On the public Status page. We try to share updates in a clear way.
