Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 3 adds cushions and straw beds
The latest Java test build adds placeable cushions in 16 colors, single-use straw beds that do not reset a spawn point, Gothic language support, and new technical options for brewing recipes and post-processing effects.
Server note: Keep snapshots on a separate test world. Data pack and resource pack versions changed again.

Bedrock Preview 26.40.30 tests cushions and straw beds
Bedrock testing now includes cushions, straw beds, updates to abandoned camps, procedural trees, and more refinements for the dappled forest content planned for the next drop.
Server note: Preview clients may not join normal production servers. Wait for your Bedrock or Nukkit software to confirm compatibility.

Snapshot 2 improves transparency rendering and mob performance
Mojang replaced the previous improved-transparency approach with a new order-independent algorithm, reduced inactive mob behavior when players are far away, and added more gameplay and technical fixes.
Server note: The distant-mob optimization may help simulation cost, but snapshot behavior can change before release.

Snapshot 1 introduces the dappled forest and abandoned camps
The first 26.3 Java snapshot added poplar trees and wood, colored poplar leaves, shelf mushrooms, red shrubs, abandoned camp structures, and wool stairs and slabs.
Server note: New world generation is safest to test on a copy, especially when evaluating future biome and structure changes.

Java Edition 26.2 releases the Chaos Cubed drop
